Diversion loads are low-voltage water heating elements.

Diversion loads are low-voltage heating elements used as part of the wind or hydroelectric BOS systems. Use one or more of these heating elements with a charge controller designed for load diversion,such as Xantrex C-40 or C-60, or Morningstar TS-45 or TS-60 to turn your excess power into hot water or hot air. They can be used in 12-, 24 and 48-volt diversion regulated systems. A wind turbine way to function it is different from a PV solar installation. The wind turbine generator can not work in an open circuit, they have to upload the residual power or the voltage spikes on a dummy load and in this way to respond to the tripping point associated to the battery bank. If this is not achieved high voltage spikes are damaging the turbine generator coils isolation or even other components of the wind generator BOS installation.
