    Residential Energy Consumption Calculator [kWh/$$]

Energy consumption for common electrical appliances it is a process which follows (4) four step calculation:

     [Step 1.] Watts Per Day:

Multiply the consumer wattage to average number of hours a specific appliance is switched on per day.

     Example:-

Samsung - 50" Class (49.5" Diag.) LED Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with 63W [ watts ] on the name plate,
Number of hours per day 5hr (hours)( average ),
    Result is 63W x 5hr = 315Wh / day,

     [Step 2.] Convert to Kilowatts:

    1 kilowatt is equal to 1,000 watts, calculating how many kWh a particular device uses is as easy as dividing by 1,000;

     Example:-

    315 Wh /1,000 = 0.315 kWh /day,

     [Step 3.] Month Period Usage:

We go ahead using Step 3 to determine the month usage considering a month having 30 days. That comes to multiply the daily kWh with 30 days.

     Example:-

    0.315 kWh x 30 days =  9.45 kWh / month,

[Step 4.] Monthly respective year price paid for the appliance:

It is based on $0.11 cents average kWh and 5 hours daily we come to $1.04 / Month and $12.48 /Year.The year consumption ultimately the yearly costs paid towards the utility company must be adjusted as rounded up to $13.00 / Year

     Example:-

The yearly consumption formula can be computed as follow:

    Energy [ E ] in kilowatt-hours (kWh) / day = Power P(W) [ Watts ] X Number of Hours Usage [ per day ] / 1000 [ watts / kilowatt: ],
    -- or Daily / Monthly / Yearly --
    E(kWh/day) = P(W) × t(h/day) / 1000(W/kW),
    E(kWh/month) = E(kWh/day) x 30(days) ,
    E(kWh/year)= E(kWh/month) x 12(month),

The form bellow allows to generate the daily, monthly and yearly value  of energy consumption for different appliances:

    Appliance type:
    Power consumption:
Hours of use per day: h/day

    Energy per day: kWh/day
    Energy in a month: kWh/month
    Energy in a year: kWh/year

Price paid for appliance energy consumed = $0.XX multiply with energy value resulted from the form above.
