    Energy Storage:-

     Power Distribution,  Power Peak,

    Energy Storage as form of Electric Power Conservation it is used as power cogeneration and it takes the power load at peak hours or during the time renewable are idle. It is a distributed battery bank or electrical battery backup based system placed in front of the meter at power utility grid level, or behind the meter at the consumer level. The power generation plants based on clean conventional resources used at peak grid demand will be partially replaced by large conservation projects based on high capacitive power banks and other forms of pumped power which can be transformed into electrical energy.

    Energy Storage as Electric Power Conservation has few vectors to consider and they define the way we estimate the quality of power conservation equipment and the business model we use to deploy those.

      Energy density translates to high capacity in a relatively small volume;
      Installation costs which come down to battery costs;
      Scalability, or how close is the direct proportional relation between the size of the battery and the power output (KW/Hours) for which the battery it is rated for, or in layman terms 10 times more volume has to be mirrored by 10 times more storage capacity.
      Grid storage capability, or the capability to be employed in a grid configuration either front of the meter or behind the meter using distributed batteries banks.

     LSD (Long Duration Energy Storage),  LDS Asset,

      Very important in evaluating an Electric Power Conservation facility we define Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDS) as being an asset and must/can provide at least 3 hours of energy storage. We can call such a storage facility as following: XX MW five-hour duration energy storage system. As now the LDS asset value it is used for following situations:
      To avoid duck curves in areas with a high penetration of wind and solar
      For grid-tied community or commercial and industrial micro grids, where storage can be attached to renewable generation for grid resiliency
      For grid constraint management, especially demand and supply shifting to avoid having to pay for new transmission infrastructure
      For islands or remote micro grids.

     CVR (Conservation Voltage Reduction),

    Conservation voltage reduction enables utilities to achieve significant energy and peak demand reduction at little cost and without customer impact.

    CVR is the practice of intentionally lowering the voltage on primary distribution circuits to maintain voltages on the secondary side to be in the lower portion of the acceptable voltage range defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards.

    This ensures the voltage will not temporarily dip below the minimum level during heavy load conditions when the maximum drops occur and during out-of-normal conditions when voltage sags — caused by short circuits —occur on the grid.

    There are several benefits for utilities to perform CVR:

      Peak shaving to lower peak demand, thus avoiding higher charges or capital expenses
      Energy conservation
      Lowering demand charges
      Potential lowering of greenhouse gas emissions
      Meeting regulatory requirements or mandates
      Mitigating voltage lowering and potential reverse power flows as a result of emerging DG and multi-directional power flow.

     Battery Banks,   Grid Storage,   Micro Grid,

    Medium-sized battery banks will play an important role in emergency cases as backup power for large hospitals or airports or for load leveling and peak shaving. Li-Ion type of batteries is the most used for such systems. Battery banks are provided as a utility grid storage facility for now. They are mandated to mitigate the peak demand situation and lower the costs of MW hour, improve the reactive power factor on the grid. They will start to be more present after the meter at the consumer level in the very close future.

    Some of the direct advantages using such high capacity battery banks in a before the meter configuration are:

      Easy to monitor and using big data easy to program for a specific geographical condition;
      Improve the reactive capacity of the grid and in this way the general efficiency of the grid;
      Reduce dependency on more costly conventional sources of power generation: natural gas and nuclear power plants;

      Requires no maintenance.

     Aquion Energy,

    Aquion is targeting small- to medium-scale applications, including off-grid and microgrid installations, buildings and grid-scale storage.

    The company's nontoxic, saltwater-based batteries are designed to deliver high-performance storage while avoiding the expensive maintenance of competing chemistries, such as lead-acid. They do work in partnership with leading inverter and electronics suppliers such as ABB, Outback Power Systems and Siemens.

     Solar Grid Storage,

    Pennsylvania-based Solar Grid Storage stores sunlight to provide backup power, demand-charge reduction and peak shaving for commercial and industrial applications.

    The company targets projects in the range of 150 kilowatts to 10 megawatts with its Power Factor system, which includes lithium ion batteries and power inverters.

     Tesla Energy,

    Tesla Energy is a technology company part of the Tesla Group (together with Tesla Motors). Tesla Energy it is focused on PV renewable market. They offer batteries integrate with PV solar – Solar Roofs - to harness the abundant power of the sun and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Tesla renewable line of products includes the Powerpack system used in Grid Conservation applications.

    Tesla was selected by energy company Southern California Edison to build a 20 megawatt battery system that can power 2,500 households a day. Here in picture SCE Tesla based Grid Conservation facility.

    Every Powerpack contains 16 individual battery pods, each with an isolated DC-DC converter. Pod architecture and onboard power electronics optimize performance across the array and enable easy swapping at any time. Some of the technological achievements used into Evs manufactured by the same company as an internal liquid cooling and heating system which allows for pinpoint temperature control within a Powerpack are used to make to build this system. A dual coolant and refrigerant loop system ensure maximum performance in all climates with better efficiency than air cooling. Powerpack’s enclosure is outdoor rated for all environments. No additional structures or covers are required, simplifying installation and lowering site preparation expenses.
