    PV Panels Mounting Structures:-

Mounting structures are used either in Residential, Commercial Roof or Ground Mounting applications.

     Residential roof-mounted systems:-

Roof-mounted arrays take advantage of available space and the fact is easily accessible and because they are elevated from the ground is considered somehow secure. At the same time, they are less expensive to be installed, since no additional heavy machinery as excavators or concrete machines is required. In considering the roof-mounted solar panels there are other considerations as the rail and solar panels weight, snow deposits which can occur in the specific geographical area and the gusts of wind.

All roof penetrations must be flashed and sealed. Flush-mounted arrays must be installed with the recommended 4- to 6-inch spacing above the roof. There are other restrictions to consider when it comes to roof installation: the distance from the upper line of the array to the ridge of the roof must be at least 3 feet. The same rule applies from the other margins of the roof to the contours of the array. Roof mounting space is usually limited, constraining the array’s size. The array design must accommodate obstructions, such as vents, chimneys, and skylights.

When it comes to roof installations NEC 690.31 put in the prospect that all the wiring must be secured with ties and clips and never make direct contact with the surface of the roof. At the same time, the mesh used to deter the presence of intruders like critters, birds, squirrels and must comply with the same NEC 690.31 considerations.

     Commercial roof-mounted systems:-

Commercial roof mounting systems tend to be significantly larger than residential ones, but also more price-sensitive because they do require customized solutions. Commercial rooftops have seldom the sloped composition of tile roofs common in residential settings, therefore specialized mounting systems can be financial make-or-break for commercial PV projects. Most commercial roof-mounted systems are highly customizable and must be specifically engineered for each particular situation.

     Pole mounted systems:-

Pole mounts represent a simple, cost-effective approach to mounting small PV arrays without the need for complex foundations-. A Schedule 40 or 80 rigid steel pole with a deep concrete anchor is typically sufficient. However, specific requirements may vary due to soil type and expected wind loads. Most pole-mount systems are made-to-order.
