Basics of plant monitoring.
Vendor based monitoring systems are manufacturer specific components working with different compatible interfaces and grid gateways. Plants not only need to monitor panel outputs, weather stations at the array and plant level, but they also need to effectively interpret the data – also known as “condition monitoring.” One major factor in condition monitoring is ensuring that a photovoltaic power plant is able to pro-actively warn operators of failures or plant misbehaviors. We offer mostly battery-based and MPPT grid tied inverter monitoring components.
Third party solutions allow pv plants to be monitored over the Web. Monitoring of pv power plants are following a common functional scheme as presented in the above illustration. At the core of the monitoring system we have a dataloger gateway. This one collects information from operational sensors as irradiance, ambient temperature, pv panel temperature, wind speed temperature sensors. Different programmable values will trigger a sequence of commands transmitted to different components of the monitoring chain. In the same time using the Web or SMS applications we will get plant status messages just in time.
The videos bellow offers a very intuitive picture of a residential plant monitoring systems at different status values for the energy generation. A good monitoring solution offers trouble shooting capabilities. To buy "SolarEdge" systems visist our "Inverter" section.
