TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The High Lifter is a double-acting, reciprocating differential piston, fluid-powered pressure intensifier. It transfers the energy from a larger volume of low-pressure liquid to a smaller volume of liquid, imparting to it higher pressure. This pumps the smaller volume under high pressure. The degree of pressure intensification that the High Lifter provides depends on the volumetric ratio of the pump: the ratio of the area of its large piston to the area of its small piston.
Your specific needs will determine the pump ratio selected. This ratio will in turn determine the percentage of inlet flow being pumped. High Lifter model H74 is available in volumetric ratios from 2:1 to 22:1. The smaller models H44 or H49 are 4.5:1 and 9:1, respectively. Because of their design, High Lifter pumps can be readily converted from one ratio to another.

How much water can I get with my 2" High Lifter water pump?
Do a site survey
1. Determine the height of the tank above your source (net lift)=_____________ft.
2. Next determine the drop from the water source to the pump (fall)=____________ft.
(Typical methods to estimate LIFT or FALL are: topographical maps, a friend with a tape measure, a hand held sight level, an altimeter, or a tube and a water pressure gauge. 1 psi = 2.3')
3. Measure or estimate the flow at the source =_________gallons per minute. (Use a gallon container and a watch.)
4. Determine the amount of water required delivery =____________gallons per day.

Typical garden/irrigation application using both pumped water and discharged water.
Performance Chart for H44 and H49

To determine how much water will be pumped, find the net lift for either the 4.5:1 or 9:1 pump on the left side of the graph. Move across the graph horizontally to the right until you cross the curve for the fall (inlet pressure). From the point where lift and fall cross, move vertically down to the bottom of the graph and read the "Delivery (gal/day)" for the type of pump being used. To get this delivery amount, the input flow to the pump must be equal to or greater than the "Flow (gal/min)" at the top of the graph in line with the point where the lift and fall lines cross. If the input flow is less than this number, the output will be correspondingly lower.
